On the second day we will review the lessons learnt from the day before and discus more advanced photographic techniques. After lunch you will be given another assignment to complete and in the evening after dinner we will critically review the days images and then vote for the best image overall for the weekend. This will be printed and displayed on the wall of fame.

After breakfast on the third morning we will say our farewells and happy snapping.

We will not be covering the use of imaging software such as , Photoshop, because if you have taken the perfect picture all you have to do I crop it and print it.

For those with camcorders, over the two days, we will have basic lessons on camera setup, movie making, storyboarding, studio lighting, sound and NLE. You will be given a short movie to make and using our Premiere Pro editing system you will then edit the film, edit the sound and create your own interactive DVD.

The aim of these courses is to make you better photographers and better film makers. It will also give you chance to meet like minded people who share a passion for creating digital images.

Painting for beginners.

Ever wanted to take up a new hobby, want to improve your current skill set? Then you have come to the right place.

Mark Eddiford, a local Blackpool artist who created the artwork for the hotel, will be leading a 3 day residential course on painting for beginners. Mark will cover watercolours, pastels, crayons, pencil, charcoals and oils. He will also cover abstract, landscapes, still life and portrait. Each day he will explain and demonstrate a different technique and then weather permitting you will be given an assignment to complete either outdoors or indoors. The cost of the course covers all materials used.
